Anime shows without fanservice

Anime is a mess. 99% of shows is just fanservice with a "plot". For whatever reason, be it abstaining from *****ual stimuli, being tired of *****ual stuff, wanting to watch something different, you want to watch shows without fanservice (if not just quit anime whatsoever.) Fortunately there are few series that manage to entertain without being lewd. It's not many and the list is not exhaustive but who cares, I wanted to create simple website.

Kaiji

Synopsis (anidb, first season) : Itou Kaiji is a bum who steals car emblems and slashes tires on a regular basis. However, one day, this routine changes when a man in a trench coat pays him a visit. The man reveals himself as Endou, a debt collector, who has come to claim an unpaid loan of 300,000 yen, which Kaiji had previously co-signed with his co-worker, Furuhata Takeshi. Because of Takeshi's disappearance, Kaiji is left with an overwhelming balance, but is given the chance to gamble against other bankrupt bums aboard a boat - each gambler is loaned additional money, giving them a chance to pay their dues or become in even deeper debt. Kaiji accepts the challenge in hopes of repaying the compounded debt of 3,850,000 yen and, with luck, winning additional cash...

My opinion: The best anime has to offer. Amazing psychological thriller that will blow your mind if you're into that. Crazy games, crazy characters, crazy bets. Both seasons are great and will get you hooked unless you can't stand actual noses or, um, no fanservice. Shame they don't make such shows anymore.

Fanservice: 0/10 There are no girls in this show. None. Okay, there is one that is shown in second season but it's just in characters's mind and for a brief second. She also resembled Kaiji so it's basically a caricature but counting it as fanservice would be autistic.

One Outs

Synopsis (anidb) : The story begins when Kojima Hiromichi, the star batter of the fictional Lycaons in Japan's Pacific League, heads to the southern Japanese island of Okinawa to train and bring himself out of a slump. There, he meet Tokuchi Toua, a 134-kmph (83 miles per hour) pitcher and the undisputed king of a gambling form of baseball called One Out. At Kojima's urging, Tokuchi signs up with the Lycaons under an unusual contract: he gets 5,000,000 yen (about US$ 46,000) for every out he pitches, but loses 50,000,000 yen (US$ 460,000) for every point he gives up.

My opinion: Debuting year after first season of Kaiji, by the same studio, with the same voice actor and again being about gambling it's hard to pick which is better. Both are fantastic. One Outs is not as insane as Kaiji but has what you need: imcredibly cool MC with spiky blonde hair, "not giving a *****" attitude and being insanely overpowered. Peak coolness of Japanese animation. Oh, and soundtrack.

Fanservice: 0,5/10 Some might consider opening to be gay but hey, I'm not gay, it doesn't arouse me. There are literally two female characters in the entire show: the woman in the first episodes (which isn't very feminine) and one selling food on the statidum (for a brief second.) That's it, 0,5 rating is probably pushing it and the show would be fine with 0 but I'm VERY honest with you.

Inuyashiki

Synopsis (anidb) : Inuyashiki Ichirou is down on his luck. While only 58 years old, his geriatric looks often have him written off as a pathetic old man by the world around him and he's constantly ignored and disrespected by his family despite all that he's done to support them. On top of everything else, his doctor has revealed that he has cancer and it appears that he has little time left in this world. But just when it seems things couldn't get any worse, a blinding light in the night sky strikes the earth where Ichirou stands. He later wakes up to find himself unscathed, but he soon starts to notice that there's something... different about himself. However, it turns out that these strange, new changes are just what Ichirou needs to take a new lease on life and now it seems like there's nothing to stop him from being a hero worthy of the respect that he never had before... unless, that is, there was someone else out there with these same changes...

My opinion: Underrated 2017 show with crazy overpowered characters. Granddad that is using his power for good and student - for bad? This will be interesting.

Fanservice: 0,5/10 There is nothing *****ual, I'm giving it 0,5/10 because there are girls (I mean like two of them? These ratings are a joke anyway.)

Usagi Drop (Bunny Drop)

Synopsis (anidb) : Going home for his grandfather's funeral, thirty-year-old bachelor Daikichi is floored to discover that the old man had an illegitimate ***** with a *****er lover. The rest of his family is equally shocked and embarrassed by this surprise development, and not one of them wants anything to do with the silent little girl, Rin. In a fit of angry spontaneity, Daikichi decides to take her in himself. But will living with this overgrown *****ager of man help Rin come out of her shell? And will not this turn of events spell doom for Daikichi's love life?

My opinion: Heartwarming story of a Daikichi taking care of a Rin. Comedy too.

Fanservice: 0,5/10 Only triggering thing is implying that granddad had "*****er" partner but other than that? Nothing.

Little Witch Academia

Synopsis (anidb) : In a time when magic is on the decline amid society, Atsuko Kagari is a cheerful girl who enters Luna Nova Academy in order to accomplish her dream of becoming a witch like her idol, Shiny Chariot. Shiny is a famous witch who disappeared from public view many years ago. On her way to school, Kagari meets the kind Lotte Yanson and the mischevious Sucy Manbavaran and the three become friends as they share a bedroom in campus. At the academy, Atsuko soon discovers she is in serious disadvantage compared to the other girls since she doesn't come from a magical family and is required to learn the magical curriculum from scratch. Having found an item that once belonged to Chariot, Atsuko must discover how to activate and properly use the mysterious Shiny Rod as she hopes it might lead to finding out what has truly happened to her vanished idol.

My opinion: Basically cute girls doing, em, magic stuff?

Fanservice: 1/10 Thought Trigger can only make "triggering" shows? To everyone's surprise, LWA doesn't have fanservice as far as shows with only girls go.

Sarai-ya Goyou (House of Five Leaves)

Synopsis (anidb) : Akitsu Masanosuke is a timid ronin on his way to Edo from the countryside when he accidentally encounters a playboy named Yaichi, who asks him to be his bodyguard. But it turns out that Yaichi is actually the leader of a group of bandits called the "Five Leaves," and he's hoping that Masanosuke will join them. Masanosuke is reluctant to help them, but as grows closer to his eccentric new companions, he learns to relate to them and grow as a person in the process.

My opinion: Peaceful, relaxing show. Has some action scenes but overall it's peaceful.

Fanservice: 1/10 Nothing *****ual, no nudity. MC is often in "red light district" that is brothel but mind you, it's Edo period, when prostitutes dressed decently unlike modern women...

Shirobako

Synopsis (anidb) : Miyamori Aoi and her high school animation club friends share a dream they all pledge to turn into reality: getting jobs in the anime industry and eventually coming together once more to create a professional anime they can be proud of. To that end, their first step is the production of their club's very own amateur anime, which gets screened during the school's cultural festival.

My opinion: Cover and the fact there are girls all over the show might give you impression that it has fanservice but it's false notion.

Fanservice: 2/10 Girls wear normal clothes, there are no subtexts or anything that would trigger you. It has girls but they're rather cute than *****ual.

Fuujin Monogatari (Windy Tales)

Synopsis (anidb) : Nao is a second grade student in junior high school, whose also the leader of the Digital Camera Club - which only consists of two members. Her favourite place for taking pictures is the roof of the school building, where she prefers to photograph the sky and clouds only. One day, she's going to the roof as usual and finds a cat which is able to control the wind to fly. Nao is so surprised that she slips off of the roof... There is also Miki, the best friend of Nao and the second member of the Digital Camera Club, Mr. Taiki, the one who taught the cat how to handle the wind, there's Ryoko, who holds some love towards Mr. Taiki, as well as Jun, who is going to help Nao and Miki finding the flying cat again and there's Yukio, the wife of Mr. Taiki's dead brother. In the hidden "village of the wind driver" - which is located in the suburbs of the metropolitan - the festival of the wind begins.

My opinion: One of those hidden, old, underrated gems. Enjoyable journey into *****hood, with ***** playing with wind. Very cool. As nanon well put "it has an interesting art style, more about motion than detail, which helps deliver its windy aesthetic: hair tossing, clothes flying, etc."

Fanservice: 2/10 Skirts are short but they're not meant for fanservice "and are more part of the show's art style (citing tvtropes.org.) There is romance episode but other than that, it's safe bet.

I will try to add more shows if I recall them from memory.

Thanks to Freedom Hosting Reloaded for letting me host this! I CREATED MY FIRST WEBPAGE FROM THE SCRATCH! (FHR makes it easy to host so I didn't have to, like, configure nginx or whatever. But it's as easy on clearnet right?)
